Now there are less than 2 months before staging! I’ve done all the prep things which require $$. I finally decided what internal frame backpack to invest in, and got the snazzy raincoat and sleeping bag I’ve been wanting for a while. So, the bag is made of 51 recycled plastic water bottles – how great is that! I added a picture because I can think of some people who will want to know just what kind – sscg and tstd!
Those three expenses were nothing com pared to the new glasses! Peace Corps requires I bring two pair with me for my 27 months. My perfect 20/20 sister owes me BIG time. BIG time. No news lately from the Zambia desk, but about 12 of us Feb 09 Volunteers have found each other on – you guessed it! – facebook. I’ve linked some of their blgs to the right—->. I’m pretty excited about them. My get-fit-for-Zambia-because-I-have-so-much-free-time plan is quite on track; another thing I’m really excited about.
I should receive the ‘staging packet’ in 3-4 weeks which will be information about the tw0-day orientation in the U.S. This will be flight information and of course some paperwork. This time I don’t mind the paperwork – some of these will allow me to defer student loans.
I will update my exact staging details when I find out. -bmjd
